Healthier minds,
better lives
Serving clients in Texas, Colorado, and Virginia
At Downstream Counseling & Integration, we bridge the gap between traditional mental health care and modern psychedelic support. We specialize in Counseling, EMDR, and Integration Therapy for clients navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Whether you are processing past trauma or seeking to maximize the benefits of a psychedelic experience, we provide a safe, clinical framework to help you move forward. Your path to healing is a personal choice; our role is to ensure you don’t have to walk it alone.

“Love is the most transformative medicine. For Love slowly transforms you into what psychedelics only get you to glimpse.”

Services
You are one of a kind.
Your therapy should be too.
Traditional Counseling

Navigating difficult seasons is easier with the right support. We provide a structured, compassionate environment to help you move forward.
Our practice utilizes a personalized blend of evidence-based therapies to match your current situation. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies.
EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a proven, evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain heal from trauma and PTSD. Instead of just talking about the past, EMDR helps you process it so it no longer controls your present.
Your history doesn’t have to dictate your future. No matter what you have experienced, you deserve a life of peace and fulfillment—and EMDR can help you get there.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine therapy is becoming a widely chosen option for treating depression and other mental health challenges. While it is not a "miracle cure," many clients find significant relief—especially when the experience is properly integrated.
One of the greatest benefits of modern ketamine treatment is the flexibility of at-home sessions. However, the setting matters. Unlike services that rely on coaches or guides with varying levels of training, Downstream Counseling provides Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) led by a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Why licensure matters: We provide a safe, clinically supported space to help you process the thoughts and feelings that arise during your journey. This ensures that your experience isn't just a fleeting moment, but a tool for lasting change.
Disclaimer: We are a non-medical therapy practice. We do not prescribe or administer medications; we provide the essential psychotherapeutic support and integration for your medical treatment.
Enhancing Your Clinical Ketamine Treatment

Ketamine treatments have become a powerful tool for treating depression and other mental health disorders. While not a "miracle cure," many patients find significant relief—especially when the experience is properly processed.
Unfortunately, many ketamine clinics focus solely on the medical administration and do not provide an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor for support.
We bridge this gap. By consulting with a counselor before and after your clinical treatments, you can better prepare for the experience and integrate your insights afterward. This "integration" process is often the key to maximizing the benefits of your sessions.
Disclaimer: We are a non-medical therapy practice. We do not prescribe or administer medications; we provide the therapeutic support to accompany your clinical care.
Psychedelic Integration Counseling

We offer specialized counseling for individuals navigating experiences with psychedelic medicines, breathwork, meditation, and other practices that induce non-ordinary (or "altered") states of consciousness.
Our Approach: Harm Reduction & Safety We operate from a non-judgmental, harm-reduction perspective. While we do not condemn or condone the use of psychedelics, and we do not recommend engagement in illegal activities, we recognize the importance of professional support.
Consulting with a licensed, experienced clinician can be a vital safety net. Whether you are preparing for a future experience or processing a past one, we help you maximize the benefits for your personal growth, spiritual development, and healing.
Disclaimer: We do not recommend or condone the use of illegal drugs/medications or the use of legal drugs/medications in any way except as directed by an individual's physician. We are a non-medical therapy practice. We do not prescribe or administer medications.
Clinical Supervision

We believe that high-quality post-graduate training is the foundation of future client success. To support the next generation of therapists, we offer clinical supervision for LPC Associates in Texas.
Madeleine Burgess, LPC-S, provides supervision for a select group of individuals whose professional goals and clinical interests align with her expertise. This ensures a mentorship experience that is relevant, deepening, and professionally rigorous.
We invite interested LPC Associates, recent graduates, and graduate students in their final semester to submit their information below.
